Deliberating Together - Achieving Shared Goals

People sometimes propose ideas for making our road an even more pleasant place in which to live. Someone then disagrees. The result:othing happens. We have developed an online tool to pool ideas, think creatively about them,  maybe generate together an even better idea we can all get behind. Our new website uses this to gather your ideas about reducing crime, levelling pavements and ensuring all our trees thrive. Having your say on these topics need not take more than an occasional few minutes of your time.  To do so, you will need to request a login password by sending an email to: mpr.ourvillage@gmail.com

Raising the Money we Need to Do the Things We Decide to Do

Up until now, we have asked residents to contribute to specific projects like trees or the street party. We are now inviting everyone in the street to set up a standing order. We will use your contributions to build a fund we can use to pay for the things we decide to do. We will aim to increase this multiple times with sponsorship and grants. Go here to set up your standing order

Tackling Crime

Whenever someone has had their car stolen or house burgled, someone will suggest that we club together to hire a private security company to patrol our own, and surrounding, roads, Is this a good idea? If it is, how many people would be happy to pay for it? And how much would they be willing to pay. Or can we come up with a better approach? A way of reducing crime that contributes more to the quality of our lives? Read here. Join the deliberation here.

A Cleaner Street

We would all like to live in a cleaner street where we no longer have to look at dog poo bags, lastic bottles and paper bags every time we go for a walk. Go here to sign up for an occasional litterpick, and vote on some ideas for tackling this blight.

Levelling our Pavements

Our  pavements are ugly and dangerous. We are very low on the Council priority list. And even if they were to be done by the Council, the surface would probably be black asphalt. Can we find a solution. Read some thoughts here. Join in the deliberation here

Ensuring our Trees Thrive

Over the past two years. we have purchased 52 new trees for our road. These have been planted by Brent”s contractor. We need to take remedial action to give these trees a good chance of achieving their full lifespan. We would like you to help us shape our strategy. Read here. Join the deliberation here.
