Brent's contractors planted 39 trees in Mount Pleasant Road in October. 

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the total of £11,355 raised so far for our Trees for our Road Fund.

Following the consultation we carried out in June, Brent’s Tree Officer Gary Rimmer agreed to a list of 14 tree varieties. 

 

These include:

• The evergreen privet Ligurnum Japonicum, to soak up carbon all year round

• The evergreen Magnolia Grandiflora with its wonderful flowers

• Malus Floribunda and Prunus Pink Perfection will enhance the cherry blossom effect in spring.

Having such a diverse range of trees will not only add to all-round beauty, it will help to ensure that any diseases that come along don't take out more than a few of the overall stock.
